In accordance with the provisions in the constitution the President ( His Excellency Nii-Djan) on 17th July 2023 appointed one MR. GIDEON DUAH a level 400 student of the Department of Agribusiness management and sustainable consumer studies as the Electoral Commissioner for the SRC Electoral commission.
Listening to the ground, our reports indicate that the has been a delay in the appointment of the appointee for the electoral commissioner position. This has lead to the mounting of pressure on the vetting committee of Parliament to fastrack its vetting process to able the appointee resume his office.However, the vetting committee of Parliament has been seen on following the normal procedures in the vetting of the appointee. According to sources, the parliament says that the said appointment should have been done somewhere in the first semester to enable them get more time to vet the said appointee.
