Scholarship Description

The recipient of this scholarship must be an enrolled student at an approved institution or university in the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec), be a citizen of the United States of America or a Permanent Resident of the United States of America (excluding Quebec).

Selected applicants will receive a $2,000 financial donation for their compelling submissions on life lessons from a senior and scholarships will be awarded to citizens or Permanent Residents of the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec) who are enrolled and currently taking classes at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec).

 

ESSENTIAL SUBMISSION

 

Students may submit either an essay or a video on the following subject: What are the most significant life lessons you have acquired from grandparents or other elder members of your family? How will you apply the lessons you've gained from working with elders in the future?

 

Video specifications

 

  • The applicant must interview a senior or share a narrative on how an older person who is or was significant in the applicant's life taught them a valuable lesson in the video.

 

  • Video length must be two minutes or less, but not three.

 

  • The video should have high-quality production values (sound, pictures, etc.); it doesn't need to be perfectly polished, but it should be well-assembled.

 

  • The Video may contain other people, but the Applicant must have the consent of every person whose name, voice, or image appears in the Video or who is mentioned in it. Please don't utilize them in the video if they are unwilling.

 

  • The movie might not

 

  • contain content that contravenes or infringes on another's rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights, or which amounts to copyright infringement.

 

  • Include trademarks or brand names.

 

  • contain works of art that the applicant did not make.

 

  • No authorization or license for the use of copyrighted music in this application.
